Polling stations shut at 10pm with torrential downpours forecast for south east

Voting in Britain's referendum on whether to stay or quit the country's membership of the European Union has entered its final hours.

Polling stations, which opened at 7am this morning, will close at 10pm and counting will begin immediately.
