Ms Justice Úna Ní Raifeartaigh, the Court of Appeal judge and former barrister, will become a judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in July.

A former academic, who was called to the bar in 1993 and took silk in 2009, was Ireland’s top-paid senior counsel (SC) by the state before her appointment to the High Court in 2016.
