Rio's failings could shine a light on the true Olympian spirit, says Susan O'Keeffe

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt arriving at the Olympic Games with a samba chorus was probably the best moment the Rio organisers have had in the six years since they were awarded the games. And when he literally danced off stage at the end, Bolt, the fastest man in the world, secured his place in Rio stardom. That name and that behaviour translates to bucks and the proverbial ‘bums on seats’ but unfortunately, the great athlete is a rare phenomenon in the Olympic village, a real, worldwide, household name.
