Paddy Power owner Flutter to continue hunt for acquisitions as US business takes off

The betting company reported revenue of $11.79 billion last year as its average monthly players surged to top 12 million

Gambling giant Flutter Entertainment will continue to scour the world for new acquisition opportunities, its company’s chief financial officer has said.

Paul Edgecliff-Johnson’s comments came after the company reported revenue of $11.79 billion last year as its average monthly players surged to top 12 million.

The gambling giant, which owns Paddy Power, saw its further adjusted earnings before deductions increase 45.4 per cent year-on-year to $1.87 billion in 2023.

In the US market, which has become a major focus for Flutter, revenue was up 40.7 per cent, while the company experienced its first year of positive further adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of $167 million.
