Not a single penny more for RTÉ until costs are cut, Sinn Féin’s Pearse Doherty warns

Sinn Féin would not give RTÉ a “penny” more in funding until it sees evidence of how the broadcaster will cut costs and details of improved corporate governance, the party has said.

Pearse Doherty, the Sinn Féin finance spokesman, said details of a restructuring plan at the beleaguered broadcaster were required before it would be comfortable sanctioning any additional funding, if it were in power.
