When playing a Dublin property developer in John Boorman’s 2006 black comedy The Tiger’s Tail, Brendan Gleeson embodied the kind of vulgar greed that defined the boom years.

But the lessons of the Celtic Tiger must be remembered now as the Irish economy continues to grow, according to the actor, whose latest film sees him take on the role of a homeless Irishman in London.

“The whole thing went belly-up, and who paid for it? The lads in the pinstripe suits didn’t,” Gleeson said in a wide-ranging interview published intoday’s Sunday Business Post Magazine.
