The minister for public expenditure also said he was more focused on what he could do in government rather than becoming party leader

Congestion charges will not be introduced in Irish cities until MetroLink, BusConnects and more light rail is built, Paschal Donohoe has said.

The minister for public expenditure said he had no such plan to introduce congestion charges.

“To my mind, we have to build a metro and have the metro up and running, we have to have BusConnects. And we have to have light rail systems across more cities than Dublin before we get to a point of fundamental change like that,” he told Today with Claire Byrne on RTÉ Radio 1.
