Freenow has welcomed the potential introduction of traffic restrictions for private cars in Dublin City Centre later this year, saying that reducing congestion at peak times would reduce the length and cost of taxi journeys.

It comes after Eamon Ryan, the minister for transport, said that measures to reduce the number of private cars passing through certain areas of the city to facilitate greater access for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport will come into force this August.
