New record for Irish electric vehicles as sales surge by 36%

January set a new record for electric vehicle (EV) sales with 3,682 such vehicles registered, a new report has found.

This was up 36.5 per cent compared to January 2022, according to data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (Simi). EVs now account for 13.5 per cent of the market.
