New legislation planned to tackle ‘serial burglars’

Almost 2,000 burglaries each year are committed by “serial burglars” who are out on bail at the time.

The government is preparing legislation which would give judges the right to deny bail to offenders who are facing multiple burglary charges and instead detain them in prison.
