Olympic boss ‘playing aces in background’

New emails have revealed extensive contacts between the former Olympic Council of Ireland president Pat Hickey and British ticketing agent Marcus Evans.

Multiple emails show that Hickey was in frequent contact with Evans, a multimillionaire English businessman, in the year running up to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and in the days after the arrest of Dubliner Kevin Mallon, an executive with Evans’s company THG, for alleged unauthorised ticket-selling.
