New business coalition wants action on shortage of taxis
Publicans say nights out are “being ruined” by a lack of transport options
The head of the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland (VFI) has said it is “almost impossible” for members in some parts of the country to get their customers home due to a shortage of taxis.
Pat Crotty said that many of the federation’s members, particularly those in rural areas, have been forced into operating informal taxi services, a position he described as unsustainable.
