McGuinness calls on OPW to list costs of Pope’s visit

Several public hearings failed to satisfy the Oireachtas finance committee on the details of the millions spent on Pope Francis’s visit to Ireland last August

The Office of Public Works’ financial control systems are “extremely worrying” and merit examination by the Comptroller and Auditor General, according to the head of the Oireachtas finance committee, John McGuinness.
