McCabe takes action against Midland Radio Group

Garda whistleblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe has initiated defamation proceedings against the Midland Radio Group over its coverage of the O’Higgins Commission report.

The contentious interview with journalist John Mooney was broadcast prior to publication of the report last year on Cavan/Monaghan station Northern Sound.

The O’Higgins Commission investigated allegations by McCabe of malpractice and corruption in his own division of Cavan-Monaghan.
