Malcolm Noonan dismisses claim that planning body was ignored when drafting new laws
The junior housing minister was responding to claims by the Irish Planning Institute, which said it had been ‘given little regard’ on law reform
Malcolm Noonan, the junior minister, has dismissed concerns that the country’s main representative body for planners was ignored as planning laws were being reformed.
He said the professional body was afforded “significant engagement” as the government redrafted the laws that govern development of property and infrastructure.
The Planning and Development Bill 2023 was published by the government in November following a 15-month review by the Office of the Attorney General.
