Johnny Ronan’s plan for 17-storey docklands tower on Citigroup office site blocked

Dublin City Council said approving the project would set an “undesirable precedent” for wholescale demolition

Johnny Ronan’s plans to demolish Citigroup’s existing office to build a 17-storey office block in its place have been blocked.

In February, Ronan Group Real Estate (RGRE) applied for permission from Dublin City Council to knock down the existing six-storey office block in Dublin’s Docklands.

The proposed 17-storey development to replace the existing block would include offices, arts and cultural spaces, retail units and restaurants.

Dublin City Council has refused Ronan’s application for the project. ...
