The impact of extended late-night licensing laws on security, health and transport services in Dublin needs to be carefully considered before being introduced, Richard Shakespeare has said.
Shakespeare, who was appointed as chief executive at Dublin City Council, following the Dublin riots in November, was commenting on the government’s proposals to allow pubs in Ireland to open until 12.30am and nightclubs to open until 6am.
