Ireland’s EU topping plastic waste creation needs to be tackled, expert says

The best way to manage plastic waste is to “reduce the amount of it we create”, the chief executive of a leading Irish environmental charity has said.

Tad Kirakowski, chief executive of Voice, was responding to a Business Post story from the weekend which showed Ireland was producing the highest amount of plastic packaging waste per head in the EU, while having one of the worst recycling rates.
