Ireland took a “strict” approach in seeking to lure only high-calibre firms to Dublin in the wake of Brexit, the Lord Mayor of the City of London has said.

Michael Mainelli, who was an advisor on Ireland's international finance strategy during the Brexit period, said the government and Central Bank had been careful in trying to tempt only high-quality business after the UK voted to leave the EU.
