Improved living standards will reverse unless green transition achieved – Ifac chair

The gains made by improving living standards in Ireland in recent years will be reversed without long-terming policy planning for the green transition, according to the chairman of the budgetary watchdog.
Michael McMahon, the chair at Irish Fiscal Advisory Council (Ifac), also said that Ireland should be “less obsessed” by economic growth, and that living standards, health and the environment should be valued more highly.
