The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is facing a legal bill of approximately €400,000 after failing to force Kildare farmer Thomas Reid out of his ancestral home.

Last month, the 54-year-old won a Supreme Court appeal quashing a compulsory purchase order made in 2012 over his 72-acre farm in Blakestown, which borders tech giant Intel and the Carton House estate.
