Iceland: Irish stores bleeding €50k per week post-acquisition, staff protest shop closures

Iceland stores in the Republic of Ireland continue to lose €50,000 per week following its recent acquisition, an independent inspector’s report found earlier this week.
It comes after a number of Iceland employees this morning began protesting outside stores Coolock and Talbot Street in Dublin after reportedly showing up for work to discover the shops were closed.
The company employs 344 people in Ireland and operates 26 shops across the country.
