Hire of overseas health staff to go on despite HSE jobs freeze

The hiring of health staff from overseas will continue into 2024 despite the HSE recruitment freeze, the Business Post has established.

Last month, Bernard Gloster, the chief executive of the HSE, extended the recruitment freeze to nearly all categories of staff, except for consultant appointments and graduate nurses, midwives and doctors in approved training programmes.
