High-stakes Aer Lingus pay talks mirror wider industrial tension across aviation sector

Aer Lingus and its Irish pilots met last week in an attempt to thrash out a pay deal and bring to an end a long-running dispute that increasingly threatens to derail further investment in the Irish carrier.

Their efforts to end the dispute proved to be in vain with an update from the Irish carrier simply stating that they “remain in discussions” with the Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association (Ialpa).
