Gibraltar and EU trade deal to be agreed after Easter

The territory, which is still claimed by both Spain and Britain, was excluded from the original deal between the EU and Britain

A trade deal on Gibraltar’s post-Brexit relationship with the EU looks set to be announced shortly after Easter, the Business Post understands.

The sovereignty of the territory is still disputed by Spain and Britain and it was not included in the trade agreement signed between the EU and Britain in late 2020. Instead, a separate deal has to be agreed for Gibraltar between the two sides.
