Gender pay gap narrows slightly at large firms

The legal profession reported the highest gender pay gap (35.1 per cent), as well as the most significant annual expansion (6 per cent)

The gender pay gap in larger firms has narrowed slightly, according to a new report.

The research of 550 companies, conducted by PwC Ireland, found that the average hourly gender pay gap was 11.2 per cent in 2023, down from 12.6 per cent the year before.

This compares to Central Statistics Office (CSO) figures reporting a national gender pay gap of 9.6 per cent for 2022, and Eurostat data showing an EU average gender pay ...
