French lottery operator buys Irish National Lottery operator in €350m deal

Purchase marks Francaise des Jeux’s first investment in a lottery outside of France

FDJ, the operator of the French national lottery, has purchased Irish National Lottery operator Premier Lotteries Ireland, a joint venture between An Post and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

FDJ will pay €350 million for Premier Lotteries Ireland, which had paid €405 million in 2014 for the rights to run the Irish National Lottery for 20 years. The purchase is FDJ’s first investment in a lottery outside of France.
