Framework to fight fake news to be agreed this week

An international framework for fighting online disinformation will be agreed in Dublin this week in response to growing concerns about the effects of social media on democracy.

The International Grand Committee on Disinformation and Fake News will meet in the Seanad on Thursday to question executives from Facebook, Google and Twitter.
