Government plans to overhaul the planning system by slashing red tape will lead to lengthy legal delays that will scupper new development, former Chief Justice of Ireland Frank Clarke has warned.

The Planning and Development Bill 2022 contains sweeping reforms to speed up the An Bord Pleanála process and to make it more difficult for individuals or groups to object to developments.
