Female Gaelic games players face their own Billie Jean King moment

Players seeking supports which GPA consider to be bare minimum requirements

Women’s Gaelic games faces a moment in history, one that their colleagues in rugby, football and even tennis have faced before.

In the same week that the WTA, the tennis body Billie Jean King formed to get better treatment for female players, celebrated its 50th anniversary, camogie players and ladies footballers have indicated they are willing to take full strike action if their basic sporting needs aren’t met.
