There are fears for Irish technology jobs after LinkedIn, the networking platform, announced plans to cut 716 jobs across its global operations.

The company cited changing customer behaviour and slower revenue growth as the reasons for the layoffs, though it declined to give a breakdown of what countries would be affected by the decision.

LinkedIn employs around 2,000 people at its Irish operation in Wilton Park in the city centre.
