Fears for Irish jobs as Dell reveals plans to cut thousands of staff worldwide

Dell is eliminating about 6,650 roles as it faces plummeting demand for personal computers, becoming the latest technology company to announce thousands of job cuts.

It is not clear what impact this will have on its Irish business. However, Dell has a sizeable operation in Ireland, with approximately 5,000 workers between its sites in Dublin, Limerick and Cork.
