Exclusive: Top Trinity academics urge provost to rescind €214k fine against students’ union

Top-level academics at Trinity College Dublin have privately called on the university’s provost to rescind a €214,000 fine levied against the students’ union amid a dispute over protests held at the campus this year.

A high-level committee of Trinity’s Fellows – senior academics who play a significant role in the university’s governance – have also called the college’s communications strategy over recent weeks “poor”, the Business Post can reveal.
