Trinity’s provost tells students allegations of ‘toxic environment’ made against students’ union

Union has taken legal action over €214k fine it received for ‘disruptive’ protests on campus this year, amid escalating row with Linda Doyle

The provost of Trinity College Dublin has said she is aware of allegations of “toxic workplace environment” at the university’s students’ union, amid an escalating row over fees, Gaza and protests at the historic campus.

Trinity’s students’ union has been fined €214,000 for a series of protests held over the last year, after it threatened actions that are “seriously damaging to the reputation and finances” of the university.
