The EU’s €750 billion pandemic fund is at a “heightened” risk of fraud because it is not policed strictly enough, the bloc’s chief auditor has said.

Irishman Tony Murphy, president of the Luxembourg-based European Court of Auditors, said there is an “an assurance and accountability gap” when it comes to safeguarding the fund, known as the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
