European Commission tackles government on water regulation

The European Commission is threatening to take the government to court for failing to regulate businesses and farmers who use lots of water.

The government had promised to bring in a new bill to finally establish just how much water is being used in the country by golf clubs, businesses and dairy farmers who are extracting water from their own private supplies.
