The ESB is conducting research into the potential deployment of green hydrogen blends in Ireland.

The production of green hydrogen is still in its very early stages, and Ireland has no hydrogen in use for electricity generation.

The use of hydrogen in electricity generation could allow for a much lower carbon stable power base, to compliment the large volume of renewable wind and solar due to come on stream in the years ahead.
