Kinsale gas field has ‘huge potential’ for energy storage, says ESB
The government is preparing to launch its new energy security framework, which will propose solutions to Ireland’s gas security issues
The depleted Kinsale gas field off the coast of Cork should be used as a strategic natural gas storage site to bolster Ireland’s energy security, before eventually storing zero-carbon hydrogen gas, the executive director of generation and trading with the ESB has said.
