ECB comments about further rate hikes are being ‘misinterpreted’, says Governor Makhlouf

European Central Bank comments are being misinterpreted to suggest there will be no more interest rate increases, Gabriel Makhlouf, governor of the Central Bank, has said.

In a speech at University of Galway, Makhlouf added that wage growth in the coming months will heavily influence the ECB’s decision to potentially hike interest rates again.
