Eamon Ryan says Ireland will ‘grasp the climate nettle’ after EPA warns country set to miss targets

Eamon Ryan, the Minister for the Environment, says Ireland “will grasp the climate nettle” and that the country needs to be “much faster and more ambitious” in meeting its climate targets.

The Green Party leader’s comments come after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said Ireland is set to only achieve a 29 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, falling well short of the legally-binding 51 per cent target.
