Dublin City Council cancels €100m permanent Liffey Cycle Route

The ambitious plan to build boardwalks over the river has been scrapped as part of a new overhaul of traffic in Dublin city centre

Dublin City Council (DCC) has cancelled the permanent €100 million Liffey Cycle Route, which would have transformed cycling infrastructure along the city quays.

In a statement to the Business Post, the council said that because of measures proposed in last year’s Dublin City Centre Transport Plan, the landmark project “need not proceed in the manner in which it was originally envisaged”.
