DPP to call for hike in barrister fees

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has said it will call on the government to increase barristers’ fees after a threat of industrial action.

The Bar Council warned of industrial action in relation to criminal cases in a letter to the DPP last month in a long-running row over pay.
