A new report from UCC found that data centres add large amounts of inflexible demand to an electricity system

The growth of data centres in Ireland represents a challenge to emissions reduction targets and the security of energy supply, according to a new report from a leading energy researcher at University College Cork (UCC).

The report was conducted by Dr Paul Deane, a senior researcher in clean energy futures at UCC, and commissioned by the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament.
