Corporate tax falls but ministers expect recovery later in 2024

A fall in corporate tax receipts so far this year is due to “timing issues” and is expected to be made up later in the year, Michael McGrath has said.

While the finance minister said he expected a recovery in corporate taxes this year, he also reiterated that the “era of consistent over performance on corporate tax is coming to a close”.
