‘Complex logistical’ issues behind request for extension to commission of investigation into Project Eagle sale

Draft report will be sent to ‘hundreds’ of individuals and entities

The interim report states that ‘it is impossible’ to predict what submissions, requests or applications will be made following the draft report being sent to ‘hundreds’ of individuals or entities

The Commission of Investigation into the National Asset Management Agency’s sale of its Northern Ireland portfolio has cited “complex logistical” issues as the reason behind its request for a further extension as it prepares to send its draft report to “hundreds” of individuals and entities.

The Business Post reported yesterday that Taoiseach Micheál Martin had granted the commission, which was established in 2017 to look at the sale of the Project Eagle loan portfolio, a further extension following submission of its 12th interim report.
