The Central Bank has announced the resignation of its director of markets supervision Gareth Murphy, though he will remain with the bank until November.

Murphy said it was now time for him to move on after eight years dealing with issues related to the financial crisis and its aftermath at both the Central Bank of Ireland and the Bank of England.
