Central Bank chief misses out on ECB role

Spain’s Luis de Guindos is now almost certain to become the new vice-president of the European Central Bank after Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe withdrew Central Bank Governor Philip Lane’s candidacy.

Donohoe told reporters in Brussels of the decision on his way into a meeting of euro zone finance ministers.
