Cairn and Glenveagh launch High Court challenge to Wicklow development plan

The housebuilders are claiming the new six-year plan relies on out-of-date census data and will put low ceilings on home delivery

Two of the largest housebuilders in the state are to launch a High Court challenge against Wicklow’s county development plan, claiming that it will cause a “significant reduction” in the number of homes which can be built.

Cairn Homes and Glenveagh have today applied to the court seeking a judicial review of the plan, which they have said relies on out-of-date census data from 2016 and has “materially underestimated Wicklow’s population growth”.
