Darragh O’Brien, the minister for housing, is expected to seek cabinet approval for a €15 million bailout of the Peter McVerry Trust, the housing and homeless charity, in the coming days.

A memo is to be brought to cabinet next week seeking emergency funding for the organisation to allow it to continue providing services after the Business Post first revealed the financial crisis to hit the charity.
