Karren Brady, the vice-chairman of Premier League side West Ham and judge on BBC television series The Apprentice, has revealed how efforts to trace her Cork-born grandfather have proved fruitless.

Brady, who will receive the 2017 Irish Post Outstanding Contribution to Business in Britain award at a ceremony in London next Thursday, said she had spent “many happy weekends” in Ireland.
